We are proud to off diverse and complete dance training from the tiniest 2's to the Pre-Professional dancer.

DESOD ONLINE
All Ages
The routine of weekly scheduled class, from the comfort of your own home. This year all Non-AP classes will be available to take as an exclusively online class. Dancers taking the class virtually will participate via Zoom or other similar online platform. Information regarding the exact platform to be used will be announced closer to the start of classes. Terrific 2's
For 18 months - 3 year olds
An introduction to dance for our youngest dancers, this fun filled 45 min class is for 2 to 3 year olds. An introduction to ballet and movement appropriate for their young development. Designed for tiny dancers to explore creative movement with creative and orderly activities designed to develop the budding dancer thru rhythm, rhyme, and movement.

Ballet and Bop
For 2-3 year olds
Designed for children ages 3 to 5 years old. This one-hour class for boys and girls consisting on Ballet, Hip Hop and Jazz. Designed to teach body awareness, musicality, rhythm and the joy of moving to the music. The class is a well-balanced base created through the combination of all dance elements and correct dance terminology is introduced and used. The result is a fun and rewarding experience for even the smallest of dancers.

Hip Hop Tots
For 3-6 year olds
Designed for boys and girls 3-5 Years Old. Classes are 30 minutes long. ​This class introduces tiny tots to commercial this dance form and is based off of a loose jazz style with upbeat, high energy rhythmic combinations. It is a fun and funky dance class filled with styles such as popping, locking, and breaking.

Ballet, Bop, and Tap
For Kindergarteners ages 5-7
Designed for children in Kindergarten and young 1st grade dancers, ages 5-7. This hour and fifteen minute class includes Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz and Tap. It stresses following directions, and proper dance etiquette. The class is a well-balanced base created through the combination of all dance elements and correct dance terminology is introduced and used. The result is a fun and rewarding experience for these young dancers.

Combo Class
For 1st-3rd graders ages 6-9
For Primary Dancers (1st-3rd Graders ages 6-9). This hour and 30 minute class is designed to prepare primary dancers for secondary classes. It focuses on more in depth knowledge of Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Proper technique is stressed and varying choreography is used to stretch the dancers mind and body.

Jazz Technique
For 1st-3rd graders ages 6-9
For Primary Dancers (1st-3rd Graders ages 6-9). This 45 minute class is for the dancers who want an increased focus on jazz technique. Proper technique is stressed and varying choreography is used to stretch the dancers mind and body.

Hip Hop
Ages 6+
For Primary (1st-3rd Graders ages 6-9), Secondary (3rd-5th Graders ages 8-11), Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers (ages 12+). Classes range from 30 minutes to 45 minutes (depending on age/skill level). This commercial dance form is based off of a loose jazz style with upbeat, high energy rhythmic combinations. It is a fun and funky dance class filled with styles such as popping, locking, and breaking.

Ballet and Contemporary
Ages 9+
For Secondary (3rd-5th Graders ages 8-11), Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers (ages 12+). This hour long class focuses on Ballet Technique with Lyrical and Contemporary combinations added to the class. Proper technique is stressed and varying choreography is used to stretch the dancers mind and body. This class is designed for the more serious dancer with the ability beyond a beginner level. Musicality, strength and agility will be advanced through greater technique.

Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre
Ages 9+
For Secondary (3rd-5th Graders ages 8-11), Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers (ages 12+). This hour long class consisting of Classic Jazz and Broadway inspired choreography and Tap skills. Proper technique is stressed and varying choreography is used to stretch the dancers mind and body. This class is designed for the more serious dancer with the ability beyond a beginner level. Greater musicality, strength and agility will be advanced through greater technique. Theatre Dance explores musicality through the forms of the Charleston to the Mambo, Swing, Rock-n-Roll, Funk and Hip-Hop. Tap Dance will advance the dancers musicality and rhythm while exploring new and exciting forms of movement and sound.

Pre-Pointe and Pointe
By teacher recomendation
Pointe is the most advanced and demanding level of ballet. This class offering is extended only to intermediate and advanced students. Pointe requires extra ballet classes and is offered only upon recommendation of an instructor and through an audition.

Voice Lessons with
Ron Wilbur
Ages 9+
DESOD invites you to participate in our Musical Theater Performance Program with RON WILBUR
Ron Wilbur, native from Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Music Education, Voice emphasis. While studying there, he was able to broaden his knowledge on all things music-related: ranging the learning spectrum from classroom management to the effective stylings of a jazz vocalist. He has had the opportunity to perform, in Central Kentucky, such roles as the title-role of Sweeney Todd, Colehouse Walker, Jr. in Ragtime ; and the Cowardly Lion in The Wiz . Ron was also featured on NBC's hit television series, "The Sing-Off" (Season 4) with the University of Kentucky "acoUstiKats." Along with performing, Mr. Wilbur has led many sessions and workshops covering the pedagogy of the singers body, stage presence, and acting techniques, here in the states and abroad, but serves right here in the Bluegrass as an arts facilitator for many organizations in Central Kentucky.
