Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre
Ages 9+

For Secondary (3rd-5th Graders ages 8-11), Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers (ages 12+). This hour long class consisting of Classic Jazz and Broadway inspired choreography and Tap skills. Proper technique is stressed and varying choreography is used to stretch the dancers mind and body. This class is designed for the more serious dancer with the ability beyond a beginner level. Greater musicality, strength and agility will be advanced through technique. Tap Dance will advance the dancers musicality and rhythm while exploring new and exciting forms of movement and sound.

Monday 5:15-6:15

For Middle and High Schoolers
Monday 7:15-8:15
Dress Code
Hair:
Hair should be secured away from the face in a bun or ponytail. Please secure loose hair or flyaways so hair in not in the dancers face

Girls:
Solid black leotard
Pink or Skin tone dancewear tights are required for ballet class. Please make sure your tights and shoes match in color for ballet. Pink, tan or black tights may be worn for jazz and tap class. Dancers will NOT change tights between subjects.
Shoes
JAZZ: Tan Leather slip-on Jazz shoes
TAP: Tan oxford (lace-up) tap shoes for all other tap classes.
Boys:
Black, gray or white tee shirts and solid black pants or shorts for boys.

Everyone
Absolutely NO loose jewelry! No drop or dangle earrings, necklaces or bracelets.
Cover-ups are to be outside of the class at all times.
Do not wear dance shoes outside the building. The soles of your dance shoes MUST be kept clean! No exceptions!!!
Solid black or pink sweaters may be worn in class as you warm up or if your class room is chilly during the winter month.
No baggy sweats of any kind.
No over-sized or brightly colored dance skirts or dance dresses.
Plain black jazz pants (no writing) or shorts may be worn during jazz and tap class only.
Teachers have the right to request the removal of cover-ups, dance shorts etc. at any time should they interfere with your performance in class.
