Studio Policies and Tuition Information
ATTENDANCE AND CLASS TIME

Come to dance class prepared, adhering to the studio dress code and with the proper dance shoes.

STUDENT WITHDRAWAL
To withdrawal from the studio, or a class a 30 day written notice is required. You are responsible for the tuition amount for the 30 days after your notice is turned in. If you withdrawal after the costume payments have been made we can not give a refund. If you have already paid for your costume, please pick it up at the end of the Spring Semester or your costume will be donated.
No refunds will be given on tuition or costumes payments.

DRESS CODE
HAIR SHOULD BE SECURED IN A BUN OR A LOW, SLEEK PONYTAIL ... AWAY FROM THE FACE WITH NO FLY AWAYS AND NOT FALLING DOWN EVERY FEW MINUTES!!!!!

Solid black leotards for girls. Black, gray or white tee shirts and solid black pants or shorts for boys.

Pink dancewear tights are required for ballet class. Pink, tan or black tights may be worn for jazz and tap class. Boys do not need tights. Girls and boys may wear white socks for fit or comfort in any class.
Shoes
-
BALLET: Pink ballet shoes for girls. Black ballet shoes for boys. Leather or canvas is acceptable.

JAZZ: Tan Leather slip-on Jazz shoes, pirouettes or foot undeez are acceptable for all jazz classes. *Boys can wear black jazz shoes

TAP: Tan Mary-Jane tap shoes for Kindergarten and Combo Classes. Tan oxford (lace-up) tap shoes for all other tap classes. *Boys can wear Black Tap Shoes

HIP HOP: Black, white or gray tee shirts and pants or shorts. Jazz shoes, jazz sneakers or tennis shoes used FOR CLASS ONLY! Do not wear your regular street shoes as they track in dirt and debris to the dance floor. Regular dancewear may also be worn.

Absolutely NO loose jewelry! No drop or dangle earrings, necklaces or bracelets.

Cover-ups are to be outside of the class at all times.

Do not wear dance shoes outside the building. The soles of your dance shoes MUST be kept clean! No exceptions!!!

Solid black or pink sweaters may be worn in class as you warm up or if your class room is chilly during the winter month. No baggy sweats of any kind. No over-sized or brightly colored dance skirts or dance dresses. Plain black jazz pants (no writing) or shorts may be worn during jazz and tap class only. Studio and recital tee shirts may be worn as cover ups. Teachers have the right to request the removal of cover-ups, dance shorts etc. at any time should they interfere with your performance in class.
Tuition Rates
Tuition is calculated based on the total hours within a family. Siblings combine their hours for a total monthly tuition rate. There is a discount given for semester or yearly rates. There is a one time $35 registration fee due at the time of registration.

Payment Policies
There are no refunds on any payments made.
We require a credit card to be kept on file for all students currently enrolled.
Payment options include:

Monthly Auto-Payment: Your card will be charged between the 1st and the 5th of each month. The card on file will be charged a Costume Deposit on October 1st and a Costume Balance on December 1st.

Semester: Pay the semester in full at registration and again at the beginning of the Spring Semester in January. The card on file will be charged a Costume Deposit on October 1st and a Costume Balance on December 1st.

Declined Card Policy: If your card is declined you will be notified and must come in and pay that month and you will incur a $30 declined card fee. We will require a new card on file. The 2nd time your card is declined, you will be required to pay your remaining semester tuition balance in full.

Returned checks will result in a $30 late fee as well as the tuition amount owed charged to the card on file, that must be paid by money order, visa, mc or cash. If you would like to opt-out of the Auto-pay or change your card on file, we require a 30 day notice. Should you have problems with payments, please call the office.

Every student must purchase a costume package that consists of costumes and a recital video. Costume package deposits are due the first class in October and the final costume package payment is due the first class in December.

COVID and other Illness related Policies
As government policies and standards change we will be updating our policies and procedures related to COVID-19 and other illnesses. In depth instructions for entering and exiting class will be sent to students prior to the start of the year.
Class Size and Spacing

Class size will be dictated by social distancing guidelines
Illness Policy
-
If a student or staff member does not feel well, or has a temperature we ask that they do not come to class.
-
If a student or staff member feels sick or has any symptoms they must let us know.
-
The student or staff member will not be allowed to attend classes at the studio until they are checked by a medical professional and deemed Covid-19 free or have been quarantined for 14 days and are symptom and fever free.
Face Masks
-
According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, the COVID-19 levels in our community have reached the point where it is safe for face masks to be optional. Starting March 15, at DESOD, face masks will not be required in our classes. We support and encourage those of you who prefer to remain masked to do so, and will continue to implement our hand sanitization and cleaning protocol as well as continuing to limit the capacity of people in our building. If students are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, we urge them to stay home.

If a student feels they need to take a break from their mask, we will allow them to sit in the area specially designated for this.
Entrances and Exits

All students will use hand sanitizer as they enter and exit the building.
-
All entrances to the building will be clearly marked and will be in compliance with physical distancing.
Restrooms
-
We will ask parents to take students the the restroom before they come to studio.

Restrooms will be sanitized frequently.
-
Student MUST wash hands after using the restroom.
-
Studio restrooms will NOT be available to anyone waiting in cars for students.
Personal Belongings
-
Students should come to dance already dressed for class.
-
Students may only bring dance shoes, personal hygiene products, and a bottle of water in their tote or drawstring bag. Please do not bring large or oversized bags.

All phones must be kept in dancer's bags and not used inside the building.
-
Students should wear shoes that are easy to put on and remove.
Sanitation
-
We have invested in hospital grade disinfectant which will be used to sanitize the building.

Floors and touch surfaces will be cleaned between each class as well as at the start and end of each day.

Refunds will not be given in the event of COVID-19 or any other illness related shut down. Should it become necessary we will provide our students with engaging virtual education.
