A letter from Miss Diana about the state mandated December shut down
Dear DESOD Families,
As you know, our governor has ordered schools and group classes to pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With respect to this decision and acting responsibly as part of the solution, we will also pause our in person classes starting Monday November 23, and switch to zoom until in person classes resume on Monday, Dec 14. Our dancers safety and well being is our top priority. Per our school calendar we were scheduled to have to take the Tuesday through Sunday on Thanksgiving week. Over Thanksgiving week we will be saying many thanks for our dance families who have supported us in this very challenging time. We are so grateful for our students and their families.
We want to keep life as normal as possible for our dancers during this most unusual circumstance, so our faculty has developed a plan to keep our students dancing and continuing to progress. Next week is Thanksgiving week and we only have Monday classes. Monday dancers will receive an email with zoom links for classes on Monday 11/23 and we will resume classes virtually for the entire studio Monday November 30th. On Saturday 11/28 you will receive zoom links for the week of 11/30 and the week of 12/7.
We are excited to announce that during our two weeks of virtual classes we will be working on fun holiday choreography to tape and include in our Virtual Christmas show “The Night Before Christmas”. We are hoping to tape the dancers the week of 12/14 and release a link for your enjoyment the week of Christmas. We can’t wait to see the finished product with all your sweet dancers participating!
As we move forward let us all be mindful of the fact that in life, there are things we can’t control and things we can. Don’t forget what we do have control over……hope and perspective. The holiday season is a season of hope and all though it may look different for many this year there is hope for a better season coming. We are resilient and we are part of a strong community. With our positive strength and prayers, we will get through this ....and your DESOD family will continue to share the gift of dance!
Be vigilant and stay healthy and safe!!
